LEARNING AND PLAYING
Besides active in the engineering, I enjoy learning and playing strings instruments such the Guitar and the Charango (small South America guitar used in folk music). Some people have Golf or Soccer as their hobby, but I enjoy music. The below picture is from the Santa Ana College Guitar Ensemble. We meet at the "Santa Ana Community College" on Saturdays 12-3PM. All 7-Pieces from movies, and arranged by the Director David Adele The 1300 and 1600 Charangos Players
My hobby as a Charango Player has taking me to visit the Bolivia Andes, and known many wonderful master players of this small little guitar, hoping in the future to visit the Peruvian Andes and the ancient city "Machu Pichu".
In October 2009, I had this opportunity to help in the outcomes of this wonderful Guinness World Record Event in Potosi Bolivia (4,000 Meters above sea level). 1300 Charango Players playing the same songs at the same time. Following the big success of the event in Potosi with 1300 charango players, a new world record was established with 1600 charangos players. This was an event celebrating the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Cochabamba city in Bolivia.
Though, this event was documented, the main organizer Mr. Arq. Alfredo Coca decided not to submit the documentation to the “Guinness World record” which I translated all the information from Spanish to English format.
